You Need to Trim your Plant! Here's Why:

There is a huge misconception with trimming (or pruning) plants. People usually think it will damage or even kill the plant when it is actually the complete opposite if done right. Still don’t believe us? Here is a list of why pruning is extremely helpful to your plant and the right time to do so:

Pruning separates what is hurting your plant

Pruning is the act of carefully removing a section (branch, leaf, or stem) from the rest of the plant. That section usually is a part of the plant that is dying from either a harmful disease, a hungry bug, or simply because it is withering. It is a natural part of what plants do and removing the harmful part of the plant will allow it to grow without being further harmed.

Pruning is one of the most Interactive/Intimate Activities for Planting

It really is a way to constantly be involved in the growing process. Instead of putting your plant in sunlight and watering it everyday, it allows you to constantly keep in touch with your plant and see its health. When you prune, you are actively removing a part of the plant you know is harming it. That gives you an opportunity to care about your plant more all while being intentional and gentle. Nothing is more interactive with a plant than identifying an issue and removing it.

Trimming Keeps your plant looking Amazing and Clean!

Yes when you prune your plant, you are cleaning its mess! You are constantly tidying up your child and preventing it from creating a pile of dead leaves and brown stems. It makes your plant look nice all while actually keeping it green and healthy! On a side note, it also helps you prevents more bugs from eating or living on your plants.

Pruning Produces Fruit or Flowers

Depending on your plant, pruning a section of your plant also allows it to grow more in that region and can potentially produce fruit or flowers! It gives more variety to your plant and you can reap benefits sooner.

Pruning Can Happen Anytime!

You can prune your plant anytime of the year as long as it is intentional. We highly suggest to research your specific plant and look up indicators/signs of where and when to prune. Usually do it when your plant is turning brown or is withering overtime. Luckily you can always contact us if you have any questions about your plants! We even maintain and take care of it! I personally never wanted to trim my plants because I was afraid of dong or making the wrong step! Now I know I can feel a little more comfortable doing it!
